Traer Nostalgia: Photos from the Traer Historical Museum
PHOTO COURTESY OF THE TRAER HISTORICAL MUSEUM
Identical twins, Marine Private First Class Thomas and Richard Addison of Traer presented a problem of identification for their first sergeant in the Fifth Regiment of the First Marine Division in Korea. The twins enlisted on January 28, 1951 and served together. Note the initials on their uniforms. This photo was sent by the United States Marines as “Home Town News.” Marine recruiters used photos and the story of the twins as a recruiting tool. Their brother, George Addison served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Their parents were George and Essie (Nelson) Addison.
