Ervin J. Tomlinson, 93

Ervin J. Tomlinson, 93, of Peoria, AZ and formerly of Traer, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2015 at his home. Service will be held at United Presbyterian Church in Traer on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 4 p.m with Masonic Rites to follow, with burial at Buckingham Cemetery prior to service.

Ervin Joyce Tomlinson was born August 28, 1921 near Traer, Iowa. Ervin is the son of Lester and Luella (Bodle) Tomlinson. He attended Dinsdale School. Ervin married Majorie Elaine Chiles on August 8, 1948 at Kellogg, Iowa and was married 55-years. They made their home at Traer, Iowa where he farmed, was employed at the Sales Barn and later worked at Farm Mutual Insurance. In 2003, he retired and they moved to Phoenix, Arizona. Ervin was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, a 50-year member of the Bona Dea Chapter of the Order the Eastern Star, Shrine Fire House Gang, and Traer Hesperia Masonic Lodge. . He enjoyed many years of playing in the card club, participating in parades, and being outdoors. Ervin always enjoyed his hobby of baking cookies.

Ervin died at home on March 7, 2015 at the age of 93. He is preceded in death by wife, his parents, and three brothers (John, Roger and Baby Tomlinson). He is survived by two sons: Gary Tomlinson and his wife Barbara of Waterloo, Iowa and Craig Tomlinson and his wife Cheri of Peoria Arizona; a sister and sister-in-law.
