To the Editor:

The Traer Community Red Cross Blood Drive, sponsored by the Traer American Legion and Auxiliary, will be at the Traer Memorial Building on Thursday, July 16 from 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Please make every effort to donate an hour of your time and a pint of your blood for those in great need. Every day, we hear of accidents occurring, members of our families and community undergoing treatments for diseases and submitting to surgeries. All these require a large supply of blood and blood products. Even in our technological world, we do not have synthetic blood. You are needed.

The number of units collected will also be added to the units at the North Tama School Blood Drive and will count toward their scholarship dollars. The more we can collect, the more they earn. In order for this to happen, the students also need to come in, donate and help with the drive. The students had a successful drive in March and hopefully some more students will participate. You must be 17 years of age or 16 with a parental permission slip.

Time is made for other activities, let’s put this on the calendar and make it a priority. Those in need thank you.
