Dysart Emerald Ash Borer meeting Mar. 17

The Dysart Tree Board will hold a special meeting for the residents of Dysart and neighboring communities on the Emerald Ash Borer problem which is progressing across Iowa. The Emerald Ash Borer has been discovered in Waterloo and many Dysart residents have voiced their concerns to the Tree Board.

The meeting will be held on Monday, March 17th, at 7:00 P.M. at the Dysart Community Building.

The local Tree Board members will present their plans for inventorying the City’s ash trees and caring for any which become infected. Mark Pingenot, Dysart’s former Trees Forever consultant and owner of Arbor Care LLC, will present information on the Emerald Ash Borer problem which every property owner with ash trees needs to know. Mark will be assisted by Dustin Hinrichs from Trees Forever. Topics to be covered include: identifying the ash borer, signs and symptoms of Emerald Ash Borer disease, what to expect when trees become infected, current research and various treatments available.

Please mark your calendar for Monday, March 17th, and plan to attend this important meeting. As homeowners and everyone who enjoys our beautiful shaded streets and yards in town and on farms, we need to know the facts about dealing with this latest threat to our trees.

Refreshments will be served.
