D-G students to present Night of the Notables May 16

The 4th and 5th grade SAILS students from the D-G Elementary will be presenting “Night of the Notables” Monday, May 16, from 6:00 to 6:45 PM in the middle school lunchroom and auditorium. This will be an event where the audience can meet and learn about a gifted and notable person the student has chosen to research.

Each of the “notables” will be featured in displays set up in the lunchroom. The displays will include photos, timelines, and research completed by the students. Students will be dresses to represent their notable person. Displays could also include the notable’s favorite food and other items of significance in the notable’s life. There will also be brochures quests may pick up and take with them to read more about the notable person, and the students will be on hand to answer questions.

Following the displays in the lunchroom, audience members will play the game show “Who Knows Their Notables?” in the auditorium to test their own knowledge of the notable people.

Students participating in the Night of the Notables include:

– Conner Prestemon as Electrical Engineer/Inventor Nikola Tesla

– Reagan Sorensen as Olympic Gymnast Kerri Strug

– Hayden Spore as English Abolitionist William Wilberforce;

– Blake Taylor as Microsoft Founder/Philanthropist Bill Gates

– Lauren Youngblut as Aviation Pioneer Amelia Earhart
