“Return of Iowa’s Bald Eagles” author to present at Otter Creek

Tama County Conservation will be hosting award-winning nature photographer and author Ty Smedes at our March 14th O.W.L.S. (Older, Wiser, Livelier, Souls) Event. The presentation, titled after his book “The Return of Iowa’s Bald Eagles” will journey you through a day in the life of an eagle.

Hundreds of bald eagles call Iowa home, but it wasn’t always that way. Ty’s book covers the measures taken to save our national bird from the brink of extinction. He will highlight action photos of Iowa’s bald eagles twisting, turning, diving and catching fish. Come enjoy the power, grace, and majesty of the amazing bald eagle.

O.W.L.S. is a fun way to get out of the house, learn about nature, and enjoy the company of friends. Tama County Conservation will host the series the 2nd Wednesday of each month at the nature center at Otter Creek Lake & Park. Presentations will start at 11 and a light lunch will follow the program (around noon). This series is designed for seniors but all adults are welcome. Free-will donations will be accepted to cover costs for lunch and guest speakers.

Please call Logan Roberts at 641-484-2231 to register. Mark your calendars for the future O.W.L.S. events. More information on each presentation and interesting speaker lineup can be found online by visiting: www.goo.gl/aYNLZP.
