Dengler Domain: Green

Sean Dengler.

Nothing is better than seeing fields of green. While it can be debated on what type of plants should be creating the green, seeing the beauty of growth is amazing. Winter can be dreary with the browns and grays, but nothing puts the soul and mood in a better place than seeing green. As I drove up and down hill on Highway 330 the other day looking out across the vast landscape, taking in the beautiful green landscape was wonderful. Seeing all the crops, trees, and grass growing is a fulfilling feeling.

While plenty of green spaces exist in the city, nothing is better than watching nature do its thing across the countryside. Green means vitality and hope for what the new growing season will bring. The green manifesting across the landscape represents more than a new plant. It means nature living to its fullest.

Unfortunately, the sunflowers in my garden were taken out by deer. They looked beautiful and were starting to take off, and the opportunity of what they could become is now gone. The vibrant green is gone with most of the garden still dirt as the other vegetables start to grow. The sweet corn also met the same fate as the sunflowers. A fence may be erected in the future.

Green means new. Green means growth. When looking at revenue, it makes sense that revenue is highlighted in green. Basic human biology loves green because it means food or the existence of other animals. This instinct continues to span generations as traveling the countryside in late spring, early summer feels right.

The Earth works together to create something out of almost nothing to help feed its inhabitants. Having an endless horizon with green fields dotting the landscape makes for a picturesque moment. It is important to go out and see the green, no matter what the crop, because green is good. The issue with what is grown can be decided later.

See the green and not only the greenback. Nature’s green is revitalizing. Whether it is walking around an older neighborhood full of old growth trees or driving along beautiful crops, being among the green is not going to help. Be intentional about observing the green.

This is why I love the placement of the Dysart Cemetery. Fields of green surround it as the small city arises next to it. These fields full of green plants have provided for farmers and city folks for generations. In the end, humans pay back to these fields by being buried amongst them. This leads to a rebirth of nature and the color, green. This color is with humans from the beginning to the middle, and to the end. Fields of green represent the beauty of life in every way.
