Dysart Chamber Community Connections: June 2026

Nicole Taylor.

I don’t know about you, but summer always feels like the season when Dysart really shines.

One of the things I love most about my role with the Chamber is getting a front-row seat to all the great things happening in our community. Sometimes it’s a large event that brings hundreds of people to town. Other times it’s something much smaller, a business celebrating a milestone, neighbors working together on a project, or volunteers giving their time to make something happen. Those moments may not always make headlines, but they’re what make a community strong.

This month was a great example of that.

Maker’s Market on Main brought vendors, shoppers, and visitors together in downtown Dysart earlier this month. Even with a little Iowa weather mixed in, people came out to support local makers and small businesses. Seeing Main Street filled with activity is always exciting and serves as a reminder that people are looking for reasons to gather and connect.

Another project you’ll start seeing take shape this summer is the installation of our new community welcome signs. The old signs have been removed, and work is moving forward on the new designs. This project has truly been a community effort, with support from the Chamber, City of Dysart, and the Beautification Committee. It’s one of those projects that may seem simple, but it sends a message about the pride we have in our community and the importance of making a great first impression.

Of course, summer isn’t slowing down anytime soon.

Vision Dysart, working with the Chamber, will host Music on Main on June 18 at the Pocket Park. It’s the perfect excuse to grab a lawn chair, visit with friends, and enjoy an evening outdoors. Events like this don’t have to be complicated to be meaningful. Sometimes the best community events are simply opportunities to spend time together.

The Chamber’s Community Shred Event is coming up on June 27. If you’ve got old documents piling up at home, this is a great chance to safely dispose of them and free up some space.

I know a lot of people are already looking forward to Fourth of July weekend. Club Dysart has once again been hard at work planning the celebration, and we’re fortunate to have a group willing to put in the time and effort to keep this longtime tradition going!

And just when we catch our breath, it’ll be time for the 24th Annual Dysart Car, Truck & Bike Show on July 17. Every year, the event brings hundreds of people to town, fills Main Street with incredible vehicles, and gives us another chance to show visitors what makes Dysart such a special place.

People often ask what the Chamber does. The answer is different every day. Sometimes we’re planning events. Sometimes we’re promoting local businesses. Sometimes we’re working on community projects, helping connect organizations, or looking for ways to make Dysart even better.

At the heart of it all, though, it’s really about people.

A strong community isn’t built by one organization. It’s built by residents who volunteer, businesses that invest locally, organizations that work together, and people who care enough to show up. Fortunately, Dysart has a lot of those people.

As always, thank you for supporting local businesses, attending community events, volunteering your time, and helping make Dysart a place we’re all proud to call home.

Enjoy the summer and I’ll see you around town!
