Redhawks Girls’ Basketball brief
North Tama seniors, guard Jules Breakenridge (13) and forward Mya Sierra (11) successfully prevent Bolts guard Lilie Vansice (20) from sinking a jump shot on Friday, Jan. 28 in the Redhawks Nest. The Redhawks took on the undefeated, conference titans Baxter Bolts (16-0) for the second time this season on Friday, ultimately succumbing to the Bolts again, 58-15, but not before freshman guard Ava Breakenridge sunk a morale rallying 3-point buzzer-beater. The following evening, North Tama took on AGWSR on the road, squeaking out a Saturday night win against the Cougars, 22-21. North Tama girls are now 5-12 for the season and 3-8 in conference play. The girls will see non-conference action on Thursday, Feb. 3 against Don Bosco-Catholic in Gilbertville. Tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m. The Dons were 3-8 for the season heading into the week.
