Redhawks wallop Wolverines to claim Homecoming win, improve to 4-2

TRAER – Redhawk football notched a wallop of a Homecoming win on Friday, Oct. 3, by defeating GMG 74-22 at Dennis Field to improve to 4-2 on the season.
In the 8-player District 6 clash, North Tama (4-2, 3-1) led 46-8 at the half, adding a touchdown in the third quarter and 22 additional points in the fourth to seal the win.
Redhawk starting quarterback Kayvin Morris was 16-for-24 passing for 161 yards and two strikes, connecting with his older brother Kayler Morris for a 28-yard touchdown. Dylan Harris also threw once for a 5-yard touchdown.
North Tama amassed 202 rushing yards and seven touchdowns including a 43-yard carry into the endzone by Harris while Kayvin Morris keepered three himself.
Drayke Dvorak, Maddox Rausch, and Clayton Williams led the Redhawk defense with 5 1/2 tackles apiece, while Griffin Hall had four including two for loss. North Tama recovered four GMG fumbles.

Williams recorded four 2-point conversions while Kayler Morris, Rausch, and Harris each added one apiece.
GMG (0-6, 0-4) was held to 196 yards of total offense. The Wolverines’ touchdowns were recorded by Ethan Klemesrud who rushed in two including an 11-yard carry and Jordan Rhodes who had a 55-yard reception after taking the pass from Jacob Snider. Jacoby Woodbury added a pair of 2-point conversions.
Homecoming court
On Friday ahead of the game, Max Monat was crowned Homecoming King during a districtwide pep rally held in the main gymnasium. He is the son of Jana and Scott Monat. Later that evening during halftime, Kruiz Ewoldt was crowned Homecoming Queen. She is the daughter of Tasha and Josh Ewoldt.
