Young celebrates 95th birthday

Relatives and friends of Margaret Young of Traer are invited to help her celebrate her 95th birthday by participating in a card shower.

Margaret was born Jan. 8, 1920, the daughter of Robert and Eliza Jane McKinley Montgomery. Both of her parents immigrated to America from Ireland. Margaret graduated from Geneseo High School in 1937, and married Robert P. Young Jr. Feb. 11, 1942. The couple farmed together southwest of Traer. Bob died in 1986. The couple had three children, Robert Samuel, Bonnie Sparks-Gray and Barbara Nelson, and there are six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Margaret was active in her church, the community, and in various clubs, until moving to Sunrise Hill Care and Rehab Center four years ago.
