Irvine Prairie to host evening strolls, ‘Where the Sky Began’ book discussion

RURAL DYSART – Join the Tallgrass Prairie Center and Cathy Irvine for evening strolls at Irvine Prairie (1174 55th St., Dysart) on the fourth Mondays of the month. Come enjoy the prairie with neighbors and friends — all ages welcome!
Throughout the season we will be joined by partners and guest speakers to lead walks on topics that showcase different aspects of Irvine Prairie. Additionally, we invite you to participate in a discussion of John Madson’s “Where the Sky Began,” the book that Cathy Irvine says inspired her gift of Irvine Prairie.
All walks begin at 6 p.m. near the parking area by the Irvine Prairie rock. Please come prepared for the weather. Water, closed-toe shoes, and long pants are recommended. In the event of inclement weather, walks will be moved to the following Monday.
Irvine Prairie walks continue on the fourth Monday of each month through September, with additional walks on June 8 and July 6. Connect with the Tallgrass Prairie Center on Facebook and visit tallgrassprairiecenter.org for updates as each walk approaches. Questions may be directed to tallgrassprairiectr@uni.edu.
