TRAER – North Tama High School Class of 2025 Homecoming King Gavin Rausch, left, — the son of Matt and Regan Rausch – pictured with his girlfriend of three years, Homecoming Queen candidate Grace Kennedy (whose dad, Keith Kennedy, is the ‘voice of the Redhawks’ on YouTube) on Dennis Field last Friday afternoon following the king coronation ceremony. Later that evening, Rausch, a running back, was instrumental in Redhawk football’s Week 6 win, 28-6, over the North Butler Bearcats. Against North Butler, Rausch was the defensive leader with 11.5 tackles (eight solo). He was also part of an epic hook and ladder play halfway through the second quarter that saw quarterback Kolt Knaack make a short sideline pass to wide receiver Josh Dostal from the Redhawks’ 49. As the Bearcat defense began to close in, Dostal turned and flipped the ball to Rausch who then blazed 47 yards down the North Tama sideline for the team’s second touchdown of the evening – stunning North Butler and creating wild celebration in the Redhawk bleachers. King Zury Seuser, left, and Queen Josie Bergmeier, right, were crowned the 2024 Union High School Class of 2025 Homecoming royalty during a pep rally held in the main gym last Friday afternoon. Later that evening, the Knights football team bested the Jesup J-Hawks, 27-20.
