TRAER – Following in her older sister’s footsteps, North Tama standout Kruiz Ewoldt has committed to continue both her academic and volleyball careers at Wartburg College, a Division III school, next year.
On the afternoon of Tuesday, April 28, Ewoldt gathered in the high school commons with her family, fellow Redhawks, and head coach Channing Halstead – also a Wartburg volleyball alumna – to mark the occasion.
Last fall, Ewoldt, a 5-foot-10 outside hitter, helped lead North Tama to the program’s sixth state tournament appearance and was a first-team all-conference pick for the third time running. She was second in the division during the 2025-26 season with 3.2 kills per set.
In addition to playing volleyball, Ewoldt plans to major in veterinary medicine while at Wartburg. She told the newspaper she chose the liberal arts college located in Waverly due to her previous familiarity with the campus. As a Knight next season, Ewoldt will play alongside several area athletes including players from Dike-New Hartford, Sumner-Fredericksburg, and Linn-Mar.
CONGRATULATIONS, Kruiz!
