Under a blue clear sky, the Shine & Show Car Show was held in downtown Traer this past Saturday. With hoods propped open, close to 80 entries sat twinkling in the sun along cordoned-off Second Street as members of the public walked up and down the main drag taking in all the unique classic vehicles – as well as some newer modern muscle cars – belonging to Tama County locals, fellow Iowans, and even those from out of state. This is the first year the annual car show hosted by the Traer Chamber of Commerce did not take place during the Winding Stairs Festival in August. As such, registrations were down slightly but enthusiasm from both the participants and those who stopped by to take in all the show had to offer appeared anything but dampened.
